This verre églomisé artwork is dedicated to my grandmother, Soledad. I was inspired by memories of her international travels and business importing camphor chests from Hong Kong. As a child, I would be the first to rip open the fresh packaging of her camphor chests and play around with the leftover shredded paper filled with laughter. My fond memories of her compelled me to showcase the oriental influence and quality of craftsmanship of her camphor chests to shape this work. Gilded in 22k gold leaf and mother of pearl inlay.
